New paint in the bedroom or on the kitchen doors can give a fresh
impression and give new life to space. But painting indoors can be
a bit tricky. That is why we have collected our best tips on how
to paint indoors.
Step 1. Brush off the wall
Before you start painting, a lot of preliminary work is required -
don't skip this! The more preliminary work you do, the easier the
painting will be, and it will also lead to the best results. So
start by brushing off the walls of the room to be painted. You can
probably vacuum the walls or sweep them with a soft brush.
Step 2. Clean away stains
If it is a white wall that has not had a painting in a long time,
there are likely some stains here and there. If this is the case,
it is good to also wash the walls with a paint wash. You can use a
microfiber cloth for this. Then rinse well and allow to dry.
Step 3. Punch over holes
If necessary, you can also fill in small holes and bumps on the
wall to be painted. Let it dry properly. Then you can grind down
the stained areas and wipe off the dust.
Step 4. Choose color at
the right time of day Having trouble deciding on color? Our best
tip is to buy a pair of sample cans and paint a few different
shades of your chosen color next to each other on the wall. Then
let them dry and see how the different colors look in the room
depending on the time of day.
Step 5. Protect floors and
furniture Make sure to protect floors, moldings, and furniture
from paint splashes by putting cover paper and tape around
moldings, electrical outlets, and other things that should not be
painted. Attach the paper carefully so that it does not slip
around when you are working.
Step 6. Cover for
moldings, sockets and handles properly Use masking tape to cover
windows, moldings, and sockets. You can also unscrew the covers on
the electrical outlets with a standard screwdriver (NOTE. Remember
to turn off the electricity before doing so). To cover handles and
pipes, you can use freezer bags and garbage bags. Would you rather
sit back and let one of our experienced professionals take care of
the painting?
Step 7. Use the right
roles prize painter, painting, painting, indoor painting, To get
the best results in the painting, it is important to use the right
roles. Are you going to paint a ceiling? Then choose a roller with
a pile that gives a rougher surface. However, a roller with
shorter piles is suitable for painting, for example. furniture as
it gives a smoother surface. Also, be sure to choose the width of
your roles. The right size makes the painting more efficient and
less strenuous for you. If you are not sure which roles are best,
you can always ask in the store where you buy the color.
Step 8. Begin painting
edges Start by painting edges, moldings, and corners with an
angular brush. Then iron it out with a small roller. When you
reach an electrical outlet or switch, carefully paint around it.
Be sure to paint one wall at a time in a room so that the paint
does not have time to dry. If the paint should dry, the result can
be streaky and ugly.
Step 9. Paint with roles
After you have painted around all the corners and edges, it is
time to develop the usual roller and start filling in the
unpainted areas. When painting with a roller, it is important to
dip it in as much color as possible without drips. You should not
be able to see the roll of fluff, but it should be completely
covered in color. Begin painting by dragging the roller from top
to bottom, and no more than two roller widths at a time for best
results. Step 10. Release
the color smell Do you want to skip the harsh color smell? A
little extra tip is to drop a few drops of flavor oil in the color
so it smells of vanilla, lemon, or freshly washed sheets instead
of chemicals.
